Synopsis :

Without dialogue, “Baraka” is a reflection on the history of the world from the only existing universal language: image, sound and music. Using the 70 mm format, the director and his team have traveled the world for fourteen months, not hesitating to go into the most remote and most rare of the Earth.

Filmed in 1992, Baraka was none other than the God of the documentary “even if it is very simplistic to summarize this kind. Le Monde du Silence reigned Cousteau since 1956 and until then but the film by Ron Fricke has made a film extra large size difference. Shot entirely in 70mm by a team of only three people for 14 months through 24 countries, the images collected are not only among the most beautiful views to date on a screen but also sweat the cinema as often. So despite this documentary Baraka deserves to be among the essential parts of the film, using his material to convey visceral sensations. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes simple meditation or finding scary tour of the world without any dialogue displays a richness in every frame that each of his visions took on new meaning. It takes to feel dizzy at these incredible scenery, directed with a sense of the photograph did not run the streets. We shall see the face of any Indian, Aboriginal, or even lost in a Western world that touches Baraka gaze of the camera, with a discreet and subjectivity deeply effective. Baraka is the masterpiece of the documentary film, which the March of the Penguins travel and other naturalists looking for films owe him greatly even today. Without ever reaching the master!
